I took the plunge and made a vegan mac ‘n cheese. It wasn’t difficult. Simple concept. You can do it in four simple steps. Here’s how:
Boil some pasta
Make some sauce
Mix and heat slowly in a pan:
Granovita cheese sauce mix
Marmite (yeast extract)
Stir over a medium heat
Use cornflour to thicken, but will thicken on standing
Once sauce is not too watery, try to coat some pasta with it. If it coats well, you can bake it.
Pour sauce over pasta
Use a lasagna dish to hold the pasta and sauce…
…and then top with some blended or mixed breadcrumbs, garlic, and olive oil
Stick under the grill to crisp the top, and serve.
